Eligibility

The following outlines the eligibility requirements for attending the Jamboree.  The following requirements are set by the Jamboree Organising Committee following approval by Scouts Australia.

Attendance criteria are in place to ensure everyone has an opportunity to experience the best of this event safely. The Queensland Contingent Leader reserves the right to reject applications that do not meet these criteria.

All applicants are reminded that attendance at a Jamboree is a privilege, not a right, and that behaviour standards will be monitored prior to the event before final approval is granted for attendance.

 Scouts*

  • Must be a current registered Youth Member at the time of application and through until at least 16 January 2025. 
  • Must not have had their 15th birthday as of 6 January 2025 ie. Date of Birth after 6 January 2010. 
  • Must have met the requirements, before 1 December 2024: Program Essentials Milestone 1 (Scout Section), as well as Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 3 in Bushcraft, Bushwalking, and Camping. 
  • Must have completed 10 nights camping under canvas within the Scout Unit or Scout Patrol at a Scout camp. Three of those nights must be consecutive. Camping in another Section or with family or school is not considered within the ten nights. 
  • Must have approval from the Unit Council. 
  • Must have consent from their parents/guardians. 
  • Must be considered by their parents/guardians and Unit Council to be of both sufficient maturity and good behaviour to successfully participate in the event.
  • Be approved by their Contingent Leader in line with their Branch policy.

 Venturer Scouts (Program Participant)

An eligible Venturer Scout choosing this category will be able to choose to:

  • Form a Jamboree Unit with other Venturer Scouts or,
  • Form a patrol within a standard Jamboree Unit with 5 patrols of Scouts.

– Venturer Scouts in a standard Jamboree Unit will be accommodated seperately with other Venturer Scouts.
– Venturer Scouts will not be in a Patrol with Scouts – they will form their own patrols within the Jamboree Unit.

Eligible Venturer Scouts must also:

  • Be a current registered Youth Member at the time of application and through until at least 15 January 2025. 
  • Not have had their 17th birthday as of 6 January 2025 ie. Date of Birth after 6 January 2008. 
  • Have approval of their Unit Council and Group Leader
  • Have met the requirements, before 1 December 2024: Program Essentials Introduction to Section for Venturer Scouts, as well as Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 3 in each of Bushcraft, Bushwalking, and Camping.

 Venturer Scouts (Service Leader Roles)

  • Have a desire to provide service to Scouts. 
  • Must have had their 16th birthday as of 6 January 2025 i.e. date of birth before 06 January 2008.  
  • Must be a current registered Youth Member at the time of application and through until at least 15 January 2025. 
  • Must have met the requirements, before 1 December 2024: Program Essentials Milestone 1, as well as Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 3 in Bushcraft, Bushwalking, and Camping. 
  • Be recommended by the Unit Council and Venturer Scout Leader as being of excellent character, a good role model to Scouts and has the skills and abilities to undertake the activity (or other tasks) nominated on the application form. 
  • Be approved by their Contingent Leader in line with their Branch policy.
  • Must have consent from their parents/guardians.

 Rover Scouts

  • Must be a current registered Youth Member at the time of application and through until at least 15 January 2025. 
  • Be 18 years of age before the opening day of the Jamboree and must be not older than 26 years as of 15 January 2025. 
  • Hold a current Blue Card (or Exemption) issued or linked as a volunteer with Scouts Queensland. 
  • Compulsory on demand modules Child Safe Scouting and WHS for Scouting are current. 
  • Be recommended by their Unit Council as being of excellent character, a good role model to younger Youth Members, and have the skills and abilities to undertake the activity (or other tasks) nominated on the application form. 
  • Be approved by their Contingent Leader in line with their Branch policy.
  • Be ready to cope with the physical requirements of the event. 

 Leaders

  • Must hold a Certificate of Proficiency prior to and through until at least 15 January 2025. 
  • Hold a current Blue Card (or Exemption) issued or linked as a volunteer with Scouts Queensland. 
  • Compulsory on demand modules Child Safe Scouting and WHS for Scouting are current. 
  • Be recommended by their Formation Leader. 
  • Be approved by their Contingent Leader in line with their Branch policy.
  • Be ready to cope with the physical requirements of the event. 

 Other Adults

  • Must be a current registered Adult Member (e.g. Office Holders, Fellowship) with a Certificate of Adult Membership at the time of application and through until at least 15 January 2025. 
  • Hold a current Blue Card (or Exemption) issued or linked as a volunteer with Scouts Queensland. 
  • Compulsory on demand modules Child Safe Scouting and WHS for Scouting are current. 
  • Be recommended by their Team Leader and 
  • Be approved by their Contingent Leader in line with their Branch policy.
  • Be ready to cope with the physical requirements of the event.
